Introducing a Backpack Project in Nicaragua:
Empowering Students for Success
Last year, the Roots of Change Foundation, in collaboration with our sister organization, FUNDACCO, launched a groundbreaking initiative - our very first backpack project. The mission was simple yet profound: to equip students from a humble community school in Los Chupaderos with the essential tools they need for a successful academic journey. As the school year kicked off in February, each student was provided with a backpack filled with essential school supplies.
We are thrilled to share that last year's project exceeded our expectations, and the impact was nothing short of transformative. The enthusiasm and support we received from all of you were phenomenal, and your generosity allowed us to make a real difference in the lives of these young learners. That's why, this year, we are back with an even more ambitious goal - to extend our reach and assist even more students.
For this year's project, we have chosen two deserving schools. Our first partner is situated in the Somotillo region, approximately 218 kilometers from the capital city, Managua. Known as "El Rodeito," this school serves 80 students ranging from preschool to 6th grade, guided by a dedicated team of three teachers. Our second partner school is situated in the municipality of Cinco Pino, within a close-knit community called "El Nancital," after which the school is named. This school serves 76 students and is guided by four teachers.
The impact of this project extends far beyond the tangible supplies we provide; it's about creating an environment where these students can thrive and reach their full potential.
